The Royal China Restaurant located at 805 Fulham Road does not have a very impressive entrance but what it lacks in decor it makes up for in great food. Operating hours are Monday to Saturday 12 noon to 11 PM and Friday and Saturday until 11:30 PM. On Sundays the restaurant is open from 11 AM to 10 PM.

The food at the Royal China is made from only the very best ingredients. The meals here are authentic Chinese and most likely somewhat different than what you’re used to it other Chinese restaurants. Menu items include hot and cold appetizers, soups, seafood dishes as well as poultry, beef and pork dishes. Of course they also have a variety of rice and noodle dishes and also vegetarian bean curd specialties. If you find it difficult to make a decision the Royal China has set meals that include an appetizer, main course and dessert.

One of the set meal options that are offered is the Seafood Gourmet for two or more people. This meal includes seafood hors d’oeuvres such as spicy baby squid, sesame prawn toast and crispy seaweed roles. The main course is fresh lobster served in your choice of sauce. The meal also comes with stirfried vegetables and Lotus Leaf Rice which is a specially prepared type of rice made with prawns and duck and wrapped in lotus leaf. The desert that comes with this meal is a fresh fruit platter. The price for the Seafood Gourmet meal is 38 pounds per person.

Days Out in Fulham

Fulham is a classic and beautiful part of London with plenty to do in both the day time and the evening. If you are planning to have a break in London this area is definitely one of the choice parts of the city to stay, and there are plenty of hotels for you to choose from. Everything from luxury 5 star to bed and breakfasts.

One of the favourite attractions is the local football team, who in the past were one of Englands top sides, but until recently had spent several decades in the dolldrums. If there are playing a game while you are staying it is well worth popping along to watch, tickets at Craven Cottage are about 20 pounds.

Parking in the area is pretty reasonable, finding a space can be troublesome, but by London standards it is not too bad. If you are thinking of hiring a car then this is an area that is very car friendly. Needless to say car hire is freely available in such an affluent and properous area of London.

Fulham palace is also worth checking out, it is a medieval located on the northern bank of the River Thames. It was once the residence of the Bishop London, who was a resident until the 1970′s. Furniture in the building is perfectly preserved, despite sometimes being hundreds of years old. The scenery around the palace is absolutely stunning and makes a perfect backdrop for a lovely romantic picnic. Prices are very reasonable and people with an interest in history will have a great day out.

So if you are considering a trip to London be sure to consider Fulham as a possible residence for the week.

Fulham, a Glimpse into the Past

Fulham is a thriving, affluent area of London with a rich culture and history. It is very much a classic snapshot of vintage London, with wealthy men in suits in the back of black London taxi cabs. In short, if you are on a day out in London and want to try something a little different, Fulham is a great place to visit.

Being a very wealthy part of London means hotels are not particularly cheap. If you are planning to stay for a night you are definitely advised to book ahead lest you should get stung trying to find somewhere to stay. You may get lucky and find a cheap bed and breakfast, but it is pretty unlikely. Car hire isn’t too much of a problem, but of course you should check with the hotel you are booking with to make sure the provide parking facilities and also ask how much parking costs.

There is plenty to do in Fulham, though if you have hired a car out you may want to leave it at the hotel for this part of London – parking attendants are as fast as lightning when it comes to issuing a ticket to a driver who has parked in the wrong place!

One site worth checking out is the Fulham railway bridge which is a remarkable site at low tide. All in all a trip to this beautiful part of West London will be very rewarding.
