The Fulham area is right next to the rich areas of Chelsea and Kensington in South West London where the price of living is one of the highest in the world. Just to illustrate this, you’d struggle to find a decent house in Fulham for much less than half a million pounds. Most houses for sale in this region are well above the one-million-pound mark. Most of the restaurants and cafes in the area take advantage of their highly-paid clientele and offer gorgeous gourmet food at very high prices.
Jump in your rented car, and take a drive around Fulham and the surrounding boroughs. You simply can’t drive down a street without seeing the odd Ferrari or Lamborghini blasting past (with the driver undoubtedly looking smug as you stare at him wishing you had that sort of money!).
Houses you drive past can be the most intimidating of mansions, which look so out of place compared to the rest of London. Poorer districts of London sport high-rise flats and cramped terrace houses, yet in Fulham you can see detached houses with over 10 bedrooms, if you’re willing to pay the £20 million premium for ownership, of course.
If all this driving around has made you hungry for the rich life, you can stop off at one of Fulham’s luxury restaurants such as the Blue elephant Thai which features an indoor tropical garden, or, if you fancy something a little less fancy, you might want to try the Salisbury which serves good old fashioned, British Pub food at reasonable prices.
